Magic: The Gathering – Pauper
Next Level Games Carmel hosts a Pauper tournament that uses commons-only decks. Matches use Swiss pairings with best-of-three play, and the number of rounds adjusts based on attendance. Entry is $10. For each entry, three booster packs are added to the prize pool, which is awarded to the top three finishers at 60 percent for first, 25 percent for second, and 15 percent for third. The winner also selects prize packs from the newest Standard sets.
Jansen Music 2026 Summer Concert Series
Part of a 10 year anniversary concert series presented by Cowpokes Work & Western and NineStar Connect, this event features a live performance by Jansen Music with food available from Pappy’s Food Truck and So Cheesy by Ohana. Entry is $5 per vehicle, payable at the gate, with cash and credit cards accepted and tax applied to card transactions. Outside food and drinks are not permitted, though sealed bottled water is allowed. Coolers and tumblers may be brought in if they arrive empty and will be inspected. Free water refill stations will be on site, so bringing an empty container is encouraged. Service will be available at outdoor windows during the performance. Nomad BBQ & Kitchen will not be operating for this event. Beverages for purchase include wine, craft beer, wine slushies, hard cider, soft drinks, and water. A six-week beginner class introduces HEMA through Spanish rapier and dagger. The cost is $150, and all equipment is provided. Training centers on La Verdadera Destreza, often associated with the rapier and known for its emphasis on refined technique. The curriculum draws on the teachings of Spanish fencing masters from the 16th to 18th centuries, including Luis Pacheco de Narvez, Jeronimo Sanchez de Carranza, Don Francisco Antonio de Ettenhard, and Francisco Lorenz de Rada. The art’s guiding principle focuses on control and mastery rather than killing, treating fencing as a dialogue that leads an opponent to acknowledge defeat, which contributes to its graceful and visually striking character. Participants work through key Destreza systems and techniques such as circular actions, precise sword handling, evasive footwork, distance control, timing, engagements, right-angle positioning, disengages, thrusts, parries, and disarms. Classes incorporate traditional Spanish carousel-style drills and practice with the unarmed hand as well as with a dagger or cloak. Instruction also touches on contemporaneous Italian approaches, including Fabris, that offered answers to Spanish methods.

When you arrive on the Grace Church campus in Noblesville, enter through the Care Center entrance at Door 18 on the north side and check in at the waiting room, where friendly faces will greet you. After check-in, a personal shopper will guide you through the store to help you find what you need. When you finish, pull your car around and volunteers will load your groceries. The Care Center is open to anyone who lives or works in Hamilton County or who lives in the northern part of Marion County north of 56th Street. Trading is encouraged, and it is a friendly place to meet other players and try out new builds. Staff are available to teach the basics and help new players get started. The structure is drop in with no scheduled rounds, creating a low pressure environment where you can play at your own pace and enjoy the community. Registration is open for the Indiana Master Naturalist series at Eagle Creek Park. Participants will explore the Hoosier environment and the area’s natural resources with guidance from Naturalists, Conservationists, and Environmental Science Professors. The program includes hands-on field experiences and connections to volunteer service opportunities to put new knowledge into action. The cost is $100 per person. Merciful Help Food Pantry
Merciful HELP Center’s Choice Food Pantry provides curbside service for households throughout Hamilton County as well as residents of 46240 and 46260. Upon arrival, visitors complete a brief form, present an ID with a utility bill, remain in their vehicles, and have groceries placed in the car. Groceries include fresh produce, frozen meat, and cleaning supplies. To receive grocery assistance every 14 days, proof of Hamilton County residency is required, consisting of a photo ID and either a lease or an electric, gas, water, or cable bill. The pantry places a strong emphasis on family health, offering fruits and vegetables and, when available, up to four meat options. It also works to stock choices suited for allergen-free, low sodium, keto, vegan, and gluten-free diets, including rescued items from grocery stores. A dedicated hygiene aisle provides essentials not covered by food stamps, such as laundry detergent, shampoo and conditioner, razors, feminine hygiene products, bar soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste, deodorant, toilet paper, paper towels, and household cleaners. Families with children who need help doing laundry can request a washer and dryer with paperwork verification. Delivery is provided, and budgeting classes explain how at-home laundry can be more affordable than using a laundromat. Mention this need at check-in and the receptionist can complete a Blue Card to begin the request. Socks and underwear for children ages 2 to 21 are available through the Tools for School program.

The Speedway Bombers Scooter Club presents the annual Border Wars Oldenburg Ride, a group journey to Oldenburg, Indiana that meets up with the Gem City and Mighty Ohio scooter clubs. The meetup spot is Wild Child Coffee Co, previously known as Coal House Coffee, where light breakfast and coffee are available before the ride heads out. Scooters of all kinds are welcome, and the route highlights the Village of Spires along with the Pipe Creek stream crossing. The plan includes a 45 minute pause in Oldenburg for fuel, IGA deli sandwiches, light snacks, and a group photo at the German maypole. From there, the clubs ride together to the Pipe Creek stream crossing and waterfall and enjoy the rolling hills of Indiana. Riders should bring a scooter that can comfortably maintain 50 to 55 mph, since a substantial portion follows US 52, also known as Brookville Road. Expect about 5 to 6 hours on the road and approximately 144 miles broken into two sections. There are opportunities to join along US 52, with gas stations serving as convenient meeting points, and a route map is shared in the event discussion. The Speedway Bombers also maintain a Facebook group for club banter and central Indiana scooter talk.
