The Stutz Artists Association is a nonprofit collective working in this historic building. The 400,000-square-foot former car factory was renovated in the early 1990s and now houses studios for more than 40 artists and creative businesses. Members represent a diverse and accomplished community in central Indiana, including painters, sculptors, fiber artists, jewelers, photographers, dancers, printmakers, muralists, tattoo artists, and more. Tax-deductible donations help support Stutz artists and efforts to bring back the residency program.

Presented by The Arc of Indiana and Self-Advocates of Indiana at the Horizon Convention Center, this statewide event honors self-advocates, families, professionals, organizations, and community leaders who turn advocacy into action, even when it is challenging. The program acknowledges notable accomplishments, amplifies the voices of people with disabilities, and celebrates those building a more inclusive Indiana. Chloe Rothschild, an autism self-advocate and national disability leader, serves as the keynote speaker. The flow of the day includes registration, opening of the doors, a welcome with awards, a lunch with a guest speaker, and concluding awards with closing remarks.

The Muncie Christmas Festival, themed Christmas for the Homeless, offers a welcoming celebration for anyone facing hard times and seeking encouragement. Presented as the biggest edition yet, a large turnout is anticipated. Guests can enjoy live music, group singing, a warm holiday meal, and a variety of no-cost essentials, all shared with a faith-filled reminder of God’s love. Free offerings include a Christmas meal featuring turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, green beans, stuffing, corn, and drinks, along with a dessert bar filled with sweets. There will also be food boxes to take home, backpacks containing hygiene kits, a coat room with coats, gloves, jackets, and more, and blankets, many of them handmade. Children can receive filled stockings, toys, and treats, and there will be bicycle giveaways through a free raffle. Beyond the festivities, attendees can connect with job leads and information on affordable housing, with representatives from community services on site, and the program includes a message of hope.

Race #2 of the 26/27 series brings an indoor multisport challenge to the Ball State University 200 meter indoor track. Participants can choose a short or long distance and select from four weight levels. Entry is available for singles or doubles, with mixed or same gender teams welcome. The format alternates running with functional stations for a total of nine runs. Each run is 800 meters for the long option or 400 meters for the short option. Between the runs you will complete a 50 meter sled push, a 50 meter sled pull, 1000 meters on the ski erg, 1000 meters on the row erg, a 200 meter round sandbag carry, 100 meters of shoulder-bag sandbag lunges, 100 meters of burpee broad jumps, and a 200 meter farmers carry, then finish with the final run. Load options are clearly defined. Level 1 uses a 155 pound sled push, a 125 pound sled pull, a 50 pound round sandbag, a 20 pound sandbag for lunges, and 20 pounds per hand for the farmers carry. Level 2 increases to a 245 pound sled push, a 190 pound sled pull, a 75 pound round sandbag, a 35 pound lunge sandbag, and 35 pounds per hand for the farmers carry. Level 3 sets a 335 pound sled push, a 250 pound sled pull, a 100 pound round sandbag, a 50 pound lunge sandbag, and 55 pounds per hand for the farmers carry. Level 4 features a 425 pound sled push, a 315 pound sled pull, a 150 pound round sandbag, a 65 pound lunge sandbag, and 70 pounds per hand for the farmers carry. Sleds are not on wheels and are pushed and pulled on turf. Ski and row machines are high quality. Shoulder sandbags with handles are used for walking lunges. Round sandbags are used for the carry and can be held in a bear hug or placed on the shoulders or back. The farmers carry uses kettlebells. Chip timing provides live results and includes splits for every run and each infield segment. Perks include a race T-shirt and a finisher medal. An overall award will be presented. Morning waves accommodate long or short distances across all levels for singles and doubles. Afternoon waves offer the short course across all levels for singles and doubles. Tentative wave assignments are shared during race week, and adjustments to start times or waves can be requested.
