A free introductory scuba experience at the YMCA of Muncie welcomes ages 10 and up to sample the sport before considering a seven week course. The program runs for two hours, starting with an hour in the classroom focused on safe diving fundamentals and an overview of the opportunities available to Open Water Divers for those who continue their education. The second hour takes place in the pool, where participants complete a brief swim, learn to use a mask, snorkel, and fins, then suit up with scuba gear to explore underwater alongside an instructor on a guided tour of the pool bottom. Please bring a swimsuit and a towel.

Open to everyone with no admission charge, the Henry County Veterans Museum welcomes visitors. It is located in the lower portion of the W.G. Smith Building within Henry County Memorial Park.

Set beneath the trees in the Walnut Grove at Morrow’s Meadow Park in Yorktown, this farm, food, and artisan market brings together weekly vendors, live music, food trucks, and a program for young entrepreneurs, creating a place where neighbors connect and small businesses grow. Recognized as the number three market in Indiana, it accepts SNAP and offers Double Up SNAP, with details available at the Welcome Table. Children through 8th grade can stop by the Welcome Table to receive a $2 token to spend on fresh produce. The park’s playgrounds and trails are close by, and the setting also serves as a launch point for White River kayak trips. At Westside Park, an annual cleanup focuses on the White River. Since 2006, volunteers have removed roughly 150,000 pounds of debris along with nearly a thousand tires while covering about 135 miles of river. With participation nearing 5,000 people, it is Delaware County’s largest single-day volunteer event. The cleanup area extends from the former Indiana Steel and Wire Plant to Canoe Country in Daleville.
