Climb aboard a restored 1966 double decker for a one hour guided ride through Downtown Frederick that explores the city’s pivotal Civil War story and the advances that reshaped battlefield medicine. Setting out from the National Museum of Civil War Medicine, a museum docent provides expert commentary with accounts of improvised hospitals, courageous caregivers, and innovations born of necessity. As the bus rolls past notable streets and landmarks, learn about the trials faced by surgeons, nurses, and soldiers, and visit significant sites where the wounded received care. Tickets are $39 per person and include admission to the National Museum of Civil War Medicine. Capacity is limited.
