MAYAA Baseball & Softball Youth Night at Keys Stadium!

A community evening centered on MAYAA baseball and softball takes place at Frederick Keys Harry Grove Stadium as the Keys celebrate Youth Day. Players who wear their MAYAA uniforms can take part in a pregame parade that begins shortly after the gates open. After the final out, children are invited onto the field to circle the bases. Families can say hello to Keyote, the Keys mascot, and enjoy time together at the ballpark. Tickets are limited and cost $17 per person, and coaches can help coordinate seating so teammates can sit together.

A 5K walk and run dedicated to supporting Maryland’s only recovery high school in downtown Frederick.

Colonial Jewelers presents a downtown Frederick wedding showcase, with the Cake Dig sponsored by Sage Cakery. Guests make their way through six venues, each set up to resemble a real wedding, where they can connect with local vendors, gather ideas, and enjoy light bites, sweets, and beverages. Participating restaurants and bars offer special deals for Wedding Walk participants during the event. The route concludes at Colonial Jewelers for the Cake Dig finale, where selected brides and grooms dig into cakes to uncover prizes while onlookers cheer. Admission is free, and registration is required to receive a Wedding Walk passport and to take part in the Cake Dig. This event offers a walk through history that highlights Maryland, with a special focus on Frederick County, and its role in the founding and development of the United States. It begins with remarks from local and state dignitaries along with special guests. After the opening ceremony, visitors can explore a range of historic venues and organizations that bring the past to life. Expect engaging interactions with reenactors and conversations with experts in period attire, creating a chance to step into the stories that shaped the nation. Presented at the amphitheater in Carroll Creek Linear Park, the America 250! 3rd Annual History Fair is co-hosted by the Carrollton Manor Chapter, NSDAR, the Frederick Chapter, NSDAR, and the Sergeant Lawrence Everhart Chapter, SAR. A flyer lists additional participating organizations and venues.

L-Town Offroad - Baltimore Area

Explore an offroad destination near Baltimore, Maryland and Washington, DC that offers miles of four wheel drive routes with climbs, mud sections, and ditch crossings, plus an optional rock garden to wrap up the ride. Bypasses are available for every obstacle and muddy area. The terrain is considered mild with modest challenges and occasional mud, and four wheel drive is mandatory. Tires must be at least 31 inches and vehicles need proper tow points. Recovery help is available if a vehicle becomes stuck. Stock Wranglers are suitable, and the trails are a good fit for 4 door Wranglers, SxS machines, Broncos, 4Runners, mid size pickups, and smaller vehicles. Full size trucks such as F 150 class or larger are not recommended. Expect basic amenities. The site is on private land and the exact location is shared with ticket holders to protect the owner’s privacy.

4 a.m. Friends is a play by Charlene A. Donaghy, directed by Rikki Lacewell, presented in a six-night run at Sky Stage. Drawing on Marlene Dietrich’s idea about the friends you can count on in the middle of the night, the story follows Becca, Tammy, and Kim, lifelong companions whose bond is marked by humor and genuine care. Produced by Endangered Species Theatre Project-Frederick, admission is pay-what-you-can at the gate, with the option to reserve seats online. Beer and wine will be available with ID, along with light concessions, and proceeds support FAC and Sky Stage.

Kindness Card Making Party - April

The grand opening of Frederick Keys Stadium at Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium showcases a $39 million transformation of the hometown ballpark. A live broadcast from 99.9 WFRE, presented with support from Smock Heating & Air, will accompany the official unveiling as attendees explore the refreshed venue. Upgrades include new clubhouses and dugouts, modern batting cages and bullpens, an expanded concourse with improved concessions, additional seating designed for a better fan experience, new LED lighting, and comprehensive safety enhancements. Guests can walk the stadium, see the updates up close, and share in a significant milestone for Frederick baseball.

Star Wars Unlimited Weekly Tournament

This weekly Star Wars Unlimited event at Tournament City Games features competitive play in a best of three format. Entry includes a Jump to Lightspeed promo pack, and additional Jump to Lightspeed packs are awarded to top finishers. Store credit prizes are based on attendance and are paid out from the prize pool, with first place receiving 40 percent plus two Jump to Lightspeed packs, second earning 30 percent plus one pack, and third and fourth each taking 15 percent. The store stocks a wide selection of Star Wars Unlimited sealed products and single cards that can be purchased with store credit.

Breathwork Journey: Connecting with Your Authentic Self

Experience a guided breathwork class that helps reset your system, regulate your energy, and reconnect with inner strength in a supportive and grounded setting. Depending on what is needed that day, the session may include a connected circular breathing technique practiced with conscious awareness to encourage activation and breakthrough, or shift to slower, calming patterns that restore balance and steady the nervous system. Each meeting adapts in the moment, whether the focus is release, clarity, or deep restoration. Benefits can include easing physical tension, supporting respiratory wellness, recognizing patterns, strengthening intuition, and exploring growth through non-ordinary states. No experience is required. Bring a willingness to explore within and be comfortable moving to and from the floor. This class takes place at The Center Sound Mind Body. Cost is $25, with discounted class passes available.

Sustainability Movie Night: The Extraordinary Caterpillar

At New Spire Arts, a free screening of The Extraordinary Caterpillar offers an hour-long, beautifully filmed exploration of the crucial yet often overlooked roles caterpillars play within natural ecosystems. The documentary celebrates the wonder of nature and shares practical ideas families can use to make a positive difference, making it welcoming for environmental stewards of every age. The film highlights the work of The Caterpillar Lab, entomologist David Wagner, and Doug Tallamy, co-founder of Homegrown National Park. The screening includes snacks and drinks, stories that illuminate why caterpillars matter, straightforward guidance for creating native habitat at home, and information on actions that support healthy caterpillar populations. Presented in collaboration with Sustainable Frederick, Wild Ones of Greater Frederick County, and Friends of Worman's Mill Park.

Lorcana League Play puts added focus on a running leaderboard where players earn points for participation and match results. New attendees receive 1 point the first time they come, bringing a new player adds 1 point, losing a round grants 1 point, and winning a round is worth 3 points. After a three month stretch that wraps up following the scheduled Set Championship Tournament and coincides with the release of Fabled, the top eight on the leaderboard share 200 dollars in store credit. The distribution awards 80 to first, 40 to second, 20 each to third and fourth, and 10 each to fifth through eighth. League nights use Swiss rounds based on attendance. Entry is 10 dollars and includes one pack, and 10 dollars in store credit from each participant goes into the prize pool. On a four round night, first place takes 40 percent of the pool and a Strength of a raging fire promo, second place takes 30 percent and a Cursed Merfolk promo, and third and fourth each take 15 percent and a Sisu promo. If five rounds are played, the pool is split as 25 percent for first, 20 percent for second, 15 percent each for third and fourth, and 6.25 percent each for fifth through eighth.

The 2026 Frederick Speaker Series: Walter Mosley

Author and social commentator Walter Mosley shares insights from a career that spans more than sixty books across mystery, science fiction, young adult, nonfiction, graphic storytelling, and erotica. Widely known for the Easy Rawlins detective novels, including Devil in a Blue Dress, he also returns to that character in Gray Dawn. His storytelling extends to the screen as an executive producer and writer on FX’s Snowfall and on The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey for Apple TV+. His novel The Man in My Basement is being adapted as a Hulu thriller featuring Willem Dafoe and Corey Hawkins. His essays and commentary have appeared in The New York Times, The New Yorker, and Playboy, and he received a Grammy for liner notes to a Richard Pryor collection. Onstage, Mosley addresses race, justice, and American life with a perspective shaped by his Los Angeles upbringing and his Black and Jewish heritage. He also founded the Publishing Certificate Program at CUNY to expand access to publishing careers for underrepresented communities. This event is part of the Frederick Speaker Series, a long-running program known for bringing notable voices to the Frederick area and encouraging thoughtful conversation that draws audiences from D.C., Baltimore, and beyond. A separate Meet & Greet is available for an additional $75, offering opportunities for a photo, a signing when possible, and light hors d’oeuvres and refreshments. This add-on does not serve as admission to the talk. Proceeds from Meet & Greet events support children’s programming at Frederick County Public Libraries.

A weekly Thursday walk at Carroll Creek Park focuses on social connection, mindfulness, and personal well-being. The group sets out in front of the Wine Kitchen on the Creek and follows an easy, flexible route. Walkers can choose about 1 mile in roughly 25 minutes, 2 miles in about 50 minutes, or continue for a longer distance. The pace supports reflection, steady breathing, and a calm mindset while taking in the surroundings. It is open to people of any age, gender, race, religion, color, or national origin who enjoy walking.

La Joie de Vivre: A French-Inspired Yoga Experience

A French-inspired yoga experience shaped by the spirit of Fête du Travail in France, a holiday that honors rest, beauty, and the enjoyment of life. This 90-minute gathering centers on l’art de vivre, inviting participants to slow down, notice what feels nourishing, and choose depth over volume in how they move and inhabit everyday moments. The class is led by Ian McClain, 200 RYT, who blends clear anatomical alignment with an intuitive, mindful approach, integrating movement and awareness through the theme of savoring. After practice, there is time to linger with light hors-d’oeuvres, conversation, and a small toast to close the evening. Attendance is intentionally limited to 15 participants.

Full Moon Sound Healing & Reiki

Settle into a restorative Full Moon sound healing experience paired with Reiki, guided by Caroline Stevens and Cindi Hustek of Peaceful Balance Reiki. Caroline, the in-house sound healer at Fit2Shine, leads participants into deep alpha and theta states with a rich blend of instruments that includes Himalayan, crystal, and alchemy bowls, cymbals, a Native American drum, the Indian bell stick, a Sufi chime, and a gong. The vibrations are offered to support physical and mental well-being. Cindi, a certified Usui Holy Fire Reiki Master, offers intentional, heart-centered energy that complements the soundscape. Together they hold an immersive space for release, clarity, and renewal. Everyone is welcome, no previous experience needed. Wear comfortable clothing, settle in to rest and receive, and step out feeling calm, centered, and aligned.

SAFE SITTER BABYSITTING 1 DAY - Frederick, MD 2026

This class prepares students to be safe when theyre home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. The instructor-led class includes games and role-playing exercises. Students will use manikins to practice rescue skills like choking rescue and CPR. Course materials are included, and students receive a certificate after passing the course. A welcome email with full details will be sent out prior to the start of the program.

Experience a 90-minute, all-levels aerial yoga workshop that uses a suspended hammock to create space in the body, build strength, and enhance flexibility and range of motion while staying gentle on the joints. Move between the mat and the hammock as you explore seated, standing, inverted, and reclined postures, then wind down with a soothing, weightless savasana. This session welcomes beginners and seasoned practitioners alike, and is suitable for participants up to 300 pounds. Attendees must be at least 13 years old, and anyone under 18 needs an accompanying adult. Please plan to arrive about 10 minutes early so hammock height can be adjusted for a comfortable fit. Wear a shirt that fully covers the underarms and stays in place during inversions, and avoid perfumes, oils, or scented lotions because the fabric retains odors. Aerial yoga is not recommended during pregnancy, after recent abdominal surgery, or for those who experience vertigo or motion sickness.

Healing Circle of Frederick

A collaborative team of local healing practitioners offers a Healing Circle featuring Reiki, Healing Touch, and other forms of energy work. When available, attendees may also receive seated massage, acupressure, or reflexology. Individual sessions typically run about 20 minutes. The gathering opens with a guided meditation and closes with a circle of prayerful song. You may come at any point during the event, and being present for the opening or closing is not required. The Circle operates on a love donation basis with a suggested offering of $25, and cash is accepted at the door. Advance sign-up is not required, and walk-ins are welcome.

Celebrate moms with an action filled aerial outing where mothers climb free. This three hour Timber Trek adventure includes access to all 16 Timber Trek trails. Every participant begins in ground school, then practices on beginner bunny slope routes to demonstrate safe use of equipment and understanding of course rules before moving on to the main platform. Gloves are encouraged but not required, and guests may bring full finger climbing gloves or purchase a pair if preferred. The experience is self guided and recommended for ages 8 and up. Children ages 4 to 7 must climb with a participating adult and will start on the purple trails. To use the Red Zipline trails, participants must be at least 4 feet tall. The weight range for climbers is 30 to 250 pounds. Everyone on the property, including spectators, must complete a waiver. Closed toe, closed heel shoes such as sneakers or boots are required, and crocs, sandals, or backless footwear are not permitted. Limit one ticket per order.

Hosted at Walkersville Volunteer Fire Company #11, this Frederick County cycling event welcomes riders of all abilities with route options from 10 to 100 miles that showcase scenic countryside. Along the way, participants can enjoy rest stops featuring local treats, followed by a celebratory finish with food, drinks, music, and more. Every rider receives a commemorative T-shirt and a swag bag. All proceeds benefit the Rotary Club of Carroll Creek and the Boys & Girls Club of Frederick County. Set in Frederick, Maryland at Amvets Post #2 "The Farm", this large summer line dancing hoedown is hosted by FIBE DANCE. The indoor venue offers ample room for hundreds of dancers, and the big shop doors may be opened if weather allows. Expect a wide mix of music, from classic country throwbacks and modern country hits to pop and hip hop, with selections chosen for well-known dances. The floor accommodates many styles, including line, swing, two step, partner, and contra. All ages are welcome and all experience levels are included. Brand new dancers can take beginner lessons, and there will also be instruction featuring classic country favorites. Guests may bring their own food and drinks, including BYOB, in line with venue guidelines. IDs will be checked and attendees will be marked accordingly. Water, soda, and tea will be available for purchase. Admission is required, priced at $15 for ages 13 and up and $5 for ages 12 and under.

2nd Annual W.F. Moran Artisan and Knife Show

At the Middletown Fire Company Activities Building, the second annual W.F. Moran Artisan and Knife Show honors Bill Moran’s enduring impact and his love for traditional handcrafts. Local artisans will display and sell work across disciplines such as wood carving, jewelry, basket making, pottery, leatherwork, metalwork, and knifemaking, with additional makers adding to the mix. Food will be available for purchase from the Firehall Auxiliary. Admission is free. Vendor tables are available for $35, with more information to be announced. This summer showcase expands the celebration of Moran’s creative legacy and creates a welcoming space to meet artists, discover one-of-a-kind pieces, and connect with the traditions he championed.

Super Hero Sunday

A superhero themed day features special offers during a three hour Timber Trek adventure. Fathers climb free on Father’s Day, with one ticket per order, and prizes are planned for the best dressed heroes. Guests who book in advance can save 20 percent on additional tickets with code SUPERDAD. The adventure includes access to all 16 Timber Trek trails. Participants begin in ground school, then move to the bunny slope trails to demonstrate proper equipment use and clear knowledge of the rules before continuing from the main platform. This is a self guided experience recommended for ages 8 and up. Children ages 4 to 7 must climb with an adult and will start on the purple trails. Participants need to be at least 4 feet tall to access the Red Zipline Trails. The permitted weight range is 30 to 250 pounds. Gloves are encouraged but not required. Guests may bring full finger climbing gloves or purchase a pair. A waiver is required for everyone on the property, including climbers and spectators. Closed toe and closed heel footwear such as sneakers or boots is required. Crocs, sandals, and backless shoes are not permitted.

Discover seasonal cooking with a class built around what is being harvested at Chocolates and Tomatoes Farm that day. In 1.75 hours, you will get to know up to six farm-fresh fruits, herbs, and vegetables, then turn them into three to four dishes that showcase each ingredient. Depending on the harvest, the menu may include salads, soups, pickled items, and other hot or cold preparations. The focus is on learning to approach ingredients the way a chef would, using the freshest market produce available.

The South Hagerstown High School Athletic Boosters host their second annual golf tournament at Maryland National Golf Club. The event uses a foursome scramble with a shotgun start.
