Teams race to write, shoot, and edit an original short in just 72 hours, with the theme and required elements revealed at the Launch Party. The tight deadline sparks inventive storytelling that can be funny, heartfelt, and full of surprises. Local entries debut on the first night in two screening blocks. The second day features special matinee screenings, followed by a main event for finalists that concludes with the awards ceremony. Participants range from first-time creators and students to experienced professionals from Frederick and beyond. The only hint about this year’s theme is the number 21.

Miles for Mercy Bike Night raises funds for Frederick Health Hospice, presented by Malloy Law Offices and hosted by American Iron Speed-n-Cycle. Riders, car and motorcycle enthusiasts, local businesses, industry professionals, friends, and supporters come together to champion a local cause. The night features music and dancing with DJ Thumper from Musical Memories, along with food from Agave 137 Tequila Bar & Grill and The Cellar Door. Activities include raffles, a silent auction, and the Miles for Mercy Car Show hosted by K & K Automotive with cars and motorcycles on display. Bike Night also marks the finale of the Miles for Mercy Poker Run, when the $500 Best Hand winner will be announced and the day’s participants will be recognized. Admission is a $10 donation, and all proceeds support Frederick Health Hospice. Attendees are responsible for their own safety and conduct. The Maryland Good Sam Fall Samboree returns with a special edition celebrating America's 250th birthday in Walkersville, Maryland.

Riders take on a challenging, fun adventure across Frederick County, with routes spanning multiple surfaces and distances. Orchid Cellar Meadery hosts, Dirty Kitten Productions produces, and Bike Doctor Frederick sponsors, and the event benefits Heartly House. Route details will be released the week of the event. The experience includes food from the La Carreta Tacos y Tortas food truck, mead and wine from Orchid Cellar, live music by Matt Stowell Music, and a bike gear swap.

This end of season Cars and Coffee meet is set at New Market District Volunteer Fire Company and will benefit the New Market Volunteer Fire Co. It serves as the final gathering of the season, with additional information to be announced. Help get the word out to anyone who might be interested.

Everedy Square & Shab Row in Downtown Frederick hosts a weekend celebration of autumn with activities suited for all ages, seasonal tastes, and plenty of shopping and entertainment. Sample fall inspired food, drinks, and treats from local favorites, then browse distinctive finds from neighborhood shops, artisans, and makers spread throughout the area. The festivities continue across the entire weekend, so there is time to explore, shop, dine, and celebrate on both days. The LHS Band Boosters present the Maryland Marching Band Association Western Regionals, featuring performances by more than 28 marching bands on the path to the state championships. Billed as their largest hosted show yet, it offers a full day of family-friendly performances at an accessible price. Attendees can support the Linganore High School Band Boosters by visiting the concessions stand or by purchasing air-grams, sock-grams, and candy-grams for student performers. TOAST brings The Best of Bread tour to the Weinberg Center for the Arts in Frederick, presenting a tribute to Bread that is promoted as a top act and noted for its faithful sound. Bread helped define soft rock in the early 1970s, with songs like Make It With You, If, Baby I'm-a Want You, and Everything I Own, and the band earned 13 appearances on Billboard’s Top 100. With original members David Gates and Robb Royer now retired, this ensemble carries the torch by closely recreating the harmonies and textures of the classic recordings. The performance moves from tender ballads to lively favorites, balancing heart-tugging moments with songs that are hard to sit still for.

This first-time appearance at Redmen Chippewa Tribe #19 features a live set of hits spanning the 1950s through the 2000s. The performance offers a fun experience with decades of music to enjoy, with plenty to take in both by ear and onstage.

Returning by popular request, this beginner friendly yoga class at Rockwell Brewery unfolds among playful pups. After class, participants can relax with a drink and spend extra time with the dogs. The series has helped raise about $10,000 each year for local nonprofits and animal rescues over the past six years, and the aim is to keep that momentum going in 2026. Rescue and beneficiary partners for each session will be announced closer to the events.

Re-Leaf Agency reshapes the stage into a multisensory world where movement, layered sound, spoken word, and expansive video envelop the room. Images of trees, mushrooms, ferns, wildflowers, and running streams span multiple surfaces, drawing focus to small and fragile life and to a sense of refuge. Blurring the line between performance and recruitment session, three Re-Leaf Agents, two dancers and a recruitment officer, frame the experience as an appeal to consider becoming keepers of the good. In the face of democratic strain and a shifting climate, the work turns to the long rhythms of nature to nurture hope. The piece grows from years spent documenting a sliver of land at the edge of Maryland’s South Mountain, where MAD Dance director Kit Clark found calm in non-human time while walking and observing the terrain. Clark performs with dancers Amanda Comi and Jeanna Riscigno, sharing that experience through movement and media. Presented as part of New Spire Arts programming at New Spire Stages in Downtown Frederick, MD, the intimate setting supports a close, memorable encounter with the work.

An open house at the PotomacBeads warehouse in Hagerstown welcomes beaders of all experience levels to shop a wide selection of beads, tools, and supplies. Expect access to exclusive products available for purchase and special in-person discounts that are not offered online. Attendees can meet the PotomacBeads team, connect with fellow enthusiasts, and discover unique finds to inspire upcoming projects. Friends are welcome, and guests will get a close look at the warehouse.
