Led by historian and executive director Dr. Mike Wakeford, the experience highlights pivotal moments in the story of the Camel City and the people who shaped it, both well known and overlooked. Registration includes the guided tour, a keepsake water bottle to carry along, and a post-walk beverage and light snack. The outing concludes inside the museum with refreshments and an early peek at a mosaic glass mural that once stood at Smith Reynolds Airport, now relocated and illuminated at MUSE Winston-Salem. Expect a relatively even sidewalk path with modest elevation changes and partial shade. The event will proceed in all weather. Participants are encouraged to bring water. The guide will use amplification and group size is limited so questions can be heard. A liability waiver is required for registrants. Suitable for longtime residents and newcomers alike.
