Awards for the 5K honor overall male and female finishers along with age group winners. Once the 5K wraps up, the 1 mile Watermelon Relay begins. Two person teams carry one watermelon, with each teammate covering half a mile. Teammates may run, walk, or drive to the exchange point. Relay entry is handled on site on race day, and it is free if at least one teammate is registered for and participates in the 5K. If you do not have a partner yet, you can find one on race day. Relay rules require that a watermelon be carried the entire distance with no bikes or carts, and a T shirt may be used to help carry it. The watermelon must not be dropped and needs to be whole at the finish. Relay awards go to the first place male team, female team, and mixed team. Refreshments will be available after the races.

Events include a free 1K fun run for kids followed by a 5K run or walk on a flat route designed for speed. Water is available around the first and second miles.
