Little Shop of Horrors takes the stage with music by Alan Menken and book and lyrics by Hiward Ashman. On Skid Row, timid florist Seymour Krelborn nurtures a peculiar plant he calls Audrey II, hoping it will rescue a struggling flower shop and help him win Audrey’s heart. The creature survives on human blood, and as it grows, Seymour is drawn into deadly choices while the plant’s ambitions expand far beyond the neighborhood. When he recognizes its plan for domination, stopping it may already be out of reach. The cast features Trey Cardona as Seymour, Abby Larimore as Audrey, and Doug Fowler as Mr. Mushnik. Cam Hayes voices Audrey II, with puppetry by Kathryn Waite. John Patterson appears as Orin and other roles, with Chloe Carroll as Crystal, Gabbi Enriquez as Chiffon, and Caitlyn Acha as Ronnette. The production is directed and scenic designed by Hayden Casey, with music direction by Christina Major Davis and choreography by Mikki Hankins. Stage management is by Rustin Rolen, with Emma Bottorff as assistant stage manager. Open water swimmers gather at Safe Harbor Pier 121 for a coached training session with the Playtri Open Water Club, a long-running weekly program in the DFW area. Participants can choose between two coached groups that focus on skill development and longer-distance swimming, with a lifeguard and watercraft providing on-water safety throughout the session. Current Playtri athletes attend at no cost, while others can drop in for a $10 cash fee, with electronic payments not accepted. A brightly colored swim cap is required. Wetsuits are required when the water is below 60 degrees, with limited exceptions for those with significant cold-water experience. Swims take place in rain, but are canceled for thunder, lightning, or unsafe wind, and will only be held when the reported water temperature is above 56 degrees Fahrenheit. Printed OWS and Playtri online waivers are required to participate.
