Truth traces a parallel timeline from Tulsa to New Haven to show how thriving Black economic ecosystems were disrupted and how those patterns continue today. Restoration treats restoration as civic practice, with leaders in justice, food, housing, reentry, public safety, and civic power discussing what liberation looks like in action. Ascension offers a deeper conversation on leadership, trust, responsibility, and the lived journeys behind public achievement, highlighting Black women leading across New Haven’s institutions. It concludes with The Commitment, a pledge to carry forward one connection, one action, and one contribution beyond the room. Admission is free and open to all, and the experience is intentionally intergenerational. Presented by Premier Concerts, Manic Presents, and Bowery Presents, this all ages event spotlights an artist celebrated for a boundary crossing approach to music and a spirit of inclusivity. An eight time Grammy winner who has also earned Academy and Emmy honors, Batiste recently released BIG MONEY, a roots steeped album drawing from gospel, soul, blues, folk, and rock and roll, created with collaborators such as No I.D., Randy Newman, and Andra Day.
