In partnership with Whispering Roots, fresh, homegrown produce is accepted and transformed into nourishing meals for shelters or shared directly with underserved communities. DA’s first EV-only car show comes to Hammer & Nails in Omaha, a free gathering that highlights electric vehicles from a wide range of makers. Look for models from Tesla, Rivian, Lucid, Polestar, Ford, Hyundai, Kia, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Chevrolet, Volvo, Nissan, and others, with dedicated show parking set aside for EV owners. Spectators will be able to see the latest vehicles and meet local owners. Hammer & Nails tours and specials are planned, along with prize giveaways and additional surprises.

Enjoy a calming reset with free outdoor yoga on the lawn at Highlander Accelerator. Open to every age and experience level, each session blends gentle movement, deep stretches, and mindful breathing to refresh body and mind in a peaceful setting. Bring a yoga mat and water bottle, and follow guidance from the instructor as the group moves through accessible poses. Outdoor classes are canceled in inclement weather. Get ready for a back to school celebration featuring free backpacks packed with school supplies for the first 200 kids to arrive. There will be games, prizes, and complimentary pizza slices for the whole family. All activities and giveaways are available while supplies last, and the event will conclude once the backpacks are gone. Completely Kids Omaha will be on site selling fundraiser cards to benefit their cause.

Music at Miller Park brings free outdoor concerts to the community as part of a summer series with live music, welcoming energy, and family-friendly fun. Performances feature artists such as Hot 8 Brass Band, Enjoli & Timeless, and the Chad Stoner Band. All shows are free and open to the public, and no tickets are required. Attendees may bring blankets, chairs, sunscreen, bug spray, food, and drinks including beer and wine, and leashed pets are welcome. Hard liquor and smoking are not permitted. The concerts continue regardless of the weather. This series is presented in partnership with Nelson Mandela Elementary School, Minne Lusa and Miller Park Neighborhood Associations, and other community partners.

On the historic grounds of Fort Omaha, a showcase of classic automobiles spanning 1900 to 1970 invites visitors to relive motoring’s early and mid century eras. From pioneer-era cars to beloved mid century favorites, this free community gathering highlights craftsmanship and automotive heritage. Spectators receive free admission and can also visit the General Crook House Museum at no cost. Attendees may vote for a favorite car, capture photos at a vintage themed photo area with classic cars and props, enjoy fare from a local food truck, and see awards presented during the show. Displaying a vehicle is free, and participation is limited to vintage vehicles from 1900 through 1970, excluding hot rods and modern customs.

Capture the carefree spirit of summer at the Share A GameDay Kickball Classic and Family Fun Fest. Expect casual kickball games with no registration required, face painting, live music, and kids carnival games with tickets available for purchase. Mr. Ice Cream will be on site with treats available for purchase. A picnic area is available, and guests may bring a lawn chair or blanket. Admission is free. The event supports Share A GameDay, an organization that connects unused sports tickets with individuals and families who might not otherwise have the chance to experience a live game, creating memories and community connections. Situated where North Omaha, Midtown, and Downtown meet, it is an easy spot to explore local flavors and craftsmanship.

Start the week with a free outdoor MixxedFit class in the North parking lot of Highlander Accelerator. Held every Monday evening, this high energy session welcomes all ages and blends dance moves with boot camp style toning set to popular pop and hip hop tracks. Bring a water bottle, wear comfortable clothing, and be ready to sweat with Sammie leading the workout. If weather is poor, outdoor activities are canceled. North Omaha Music & Arts presents weekly jazz gatherings with no admission charge. A resident band kicks things off, then the floor opens to jazz musicians of all stripes, including instrumentalists and vocalists, to share their artistry, collaborate, and refine ideas together. Dedicated to strengthening the local jazz scene, these sessions create a supportive space to find inspiration, connect with peers, and enjoy live music.

Kayak Clean Up at Zorinsky Lake invites paddlers and shore-based helpers to care for local waters alongside Nebraska Game and Parks outdoor educators and partners. As part of a once-a-year, statewide cleanup coordinated across multiple locations, the goal is to remove a large amount of trash while fostering a strong sense of community. Trash bags and gloves are provided. A safety talk and basic instruction take place at the start. Participation is free. Attendees may bring their own kayak or borrow one, and land-based cleanup is an option as well. Due to a limited number of boats, registration is required to reserve a kayak. Kayaks are available to participants ages 10 and up on a first come, first served basis. Plan to meet at the Zorinsky Lake Trailhead parking lot on the north side of the lake. A confirmation email with any additional details will be sent after registration.

This ribbon-cutting celebration highlights recent renovations at Kountze Park, including a newly renovated sprayground and a brand new playground. Kona Ice will be there.
