Donations are accepted Friday through Sunday during regular store hours, and Whispering Roots will collect the contributions on Monday morning. Items in highest demand include tomatoes, peppers, onions, cucumbers, squash, okra, herbs, and melons, and any fresh produce that does not require immediate refrigeration will be put to good use. To help ensure quality and safety, wash hands thoroughly before handling, rinse produce with cool water only and let it dry, then transport it in clean containers while keeping it away from other surfaces.

Nebraska’s largest annual dog-friendly gathering returns with the 37th Annual Margre Durham Walk & Dog Fest at the NHS Meadow. Admission is free, and sponsorship opportunities are available. The day features sponsor tents, a beer garden with food, FlyBall demonstrations, a Family Zone, rescue groups, exclusive merchandise, and an adoption parade. Expect multiple demonstrations, including a K9 handler showcase, along with a mile-long walk on the Keystone Trail before everyone heads back to the meadow to wrap up the festivities. A new $150 Golden Paw option offers 40 percent off merchandise, five raffle entries, four drink tickets, a walk T-shirt, a food voucher, and VIP access, available in advance or on site. This is the Nebraska Humane Society’s annual fundraiser, so donations are welcome, but there is no cost to attend. Star Wars Unlimited open play offers a three round Premier format for participants. Entry is $5.00. On the last Sunday of each month, the format switches to Twin Suns.

The program features interactive moments that encourage movement and plenty of cheering, welcoming young athletes, music fans, and their adults to participate together while celebrating the teamwork at the heart of both sports and the orchestra. An ASL interpreter will be present for this performance. Pre-concert lobby activities include hands-on crafts, musical instrument demonstrations, and more to spark curiosity and build excitement before the music begins.

Settle into a contemplative sound bath at Urban Abbey, where Rev. Dr. Jane Florence guides a meditative experience designed to support deep rest, healing, clarity, and calm. Gentle waves of sound from crystal singing bowls, chimes, and other resonant instruments encourage release, reconnection, and stillness. This welcoming gathering is open to both newcomers and seasoned participants in a warm, inclusive setting. For comfort, attendees may bring a yoga mat, blanket, or pillow.
