NOMA Sessions Jazz offers free weekly gatherings hosted by North Omaha Music & Arts. Each evening features a set from the house band, followed by an open session that welcomes jazz musicians, instrumentalists, and vocalists to collaborate, improvise, and develop their skills together in a supportive space. The Format performs with The Get Up Kids at Slowdown in the Main Room. After an earlier reunion effort was halted and their first day back in the studio was disrupted by Los Angeles wildfires, Nate Ruess and Sam Means pressed forward on their third album, Boycott Heaven, recording at Henson Recording Studios with producer Brendan O’Brien and drummer Matt Chamberlain. The album blends the band’s hook-heavy style with reflections on family, long-standing partnerships, and a belief that tomorrow can improve, drawing on the alt-rock, grunge, and pop-punk sounds that first connected the duo as Arizona teenagers. Recent sold-out shows in Phoenix, Los Angeles, and New York previewed the new material and marked a renewed chapter for the band.

Holywatr blends alternative metal, emo, and metalcore into a fierce, melodic sound that stretches beyond genre lines. With heavy riffs, soaring hooks, and the full-length release Deo Gratias, they continue to surge as a prominent new force in heavy music. Mercury, the project led by Maddie Kerr from the rural outskirts of Franklin, Tennessee, turns songwriting into a way to endure and make sense of a difficult world. The three-song set Born in Early May, Special, and Crick appears as Together We Are One, You And I, paired with a short film directed by Harrison Shook that explores grief, pain, and resilience through narrative scenes, contemporary dance, and vivid imagery of vast darkness, spiritual symbols, and ember-lit hues. At the Holland Performing Arts Center, Maestro Falletta and pianist Joyce Yang kick off the 2026/27 season with Gershwin's Piano Concerto in F. The program also features Adolphus Hailstork's Fanfare on Amazing Grace and music by Strauss, including Dance of the Seven Veils and a suite from Rosenkavalier. A pre-concert talk takes place in the lobby on the orchestra level, hosted by Omaha Symphony musicians.

After finding a foothold in New York’s Lower East Side, playing CBGB and growing from acoustic sets in Ukrainian bars to an eight-piece force, the band has shared stages with System of a Down, Primus, Rancid, and Dropkick Murphys, collaborated with Regina Spektor, and recorded with Rick Rubin and Steve Albini. Their latest record, We Mean It, Man!, created with producers Nick Launay and Adam 'Atom' Greenspan, infuses post-punk textures into their freewheeling gypsy-punk across twelve tight, hook-forward tracks. The title cut surges into no-wave sax skronk, No Time For Idiots nods to classic riff-punk, Life Is Possible Again pushes optimism amid the war in Ukraine, and Solidarity features Bernard Sumner reimagining the Angelic Upstarts anthem in response to that conflict. Fronted by Jack Parker, their new noise-pop takes aim at a screen-saturated, post-capitalist world. A clever twist on Beethoven’s Fifth imagines the famous motif as part of a lively football showdown, and the soaring spirit of John Williams’ Olympic theme adds a triumphant lift. The program features interactive moments that encourage movement and plenty of cheering, welcoming young athletes, music fans, and their adults to participate together while celebrating the teamwork at the heart of both sports and the orchestra. An ASL interpreter will be present for this performance. Pre-concert lobby activities include hands-on crafts, musical instrument demonstrations, and more to spark curiosity and build excitement before the music begins.

Coheed and Cambria take the stage at The Admiral Theater with The Home Team for a night centered on the band’s sweeping, sci fi tinged progressive rock. Led by singer, guitarist, and storyteller Claudio Sanchez, with Travis Stever on lead guitar, Josh Eppard on drums, and Zach Cooper on bass, the group has built a vast narrative world through The Amory Wars, a saga set across 78 planets known as Heaven’s Fence. Their album The Father of Make Believe turns more personal while still threading in the characters and mythology that longtime listeners know, pairing powerful vocals with dynamic guitars and drums in ways that welcome both new and devoted fans.
