Clear out usable furniture without sending it to the landfill at a Beyond the Bin furniture collection with Northwest Furniture Bank. Beyond the Bin offers free, community reuse events where participants can bring items to the Tacoma Recovery & Transfer Center to be donated to local nonprofits that return them to the community through reuse or redistribution. This fourth Friday edition highlights furniture and is part of a recurring collaboration that runs from April through September. Donations are taken in the order people arrive, and the day ends once the trucks fill up. Items may be declined based on condition, size, demand, market value, or season. Oversized, hazardous, damaged, or otherwise non-accepted items will not be taken, and participants are responsible for safely disposing of anything that cannot be accepted. Accepted items can vary with each partner, so review the event calendar and the partner’s current list before attending.

Wrap up summer at Theater Square with a downtown puzzle adventure. Form a team to tackle large-scale puzzles and clever brainteasers placed around Tacoma’s downtown, designed to test problem-solving and teamwork. It plays like an escape room in the open air, with a chance to win $500. Registration is free and open.
