    Give clothing and small household items a second life at a free Beyond the Bin community reuse event partnered with Goodwill Olympics & Rainier Region at the Tacoma Recovery & Transfer Center. Donated, usable goods will go to local nonprofit partners that reuse, repurpose, and redistribute them in the community, which helps reduce waste and keeps valuable materials in circulation. Acceptance is first come, first served, and collections conclude when trucks are full. Items may be declined due to condition, size, demand, market value, or seasonality, and oversized, hazardous, damaged, or otherwise non-accepted items are not taken. Participants are responsible for safely disposing of anything that is turned away. What is accepted can change with each partner, so review the event details and the partner’s current guidelines before attending.

    The 21st year of IN THE SPIRIT Arts Market & Northwest Native Festival brings a free community celebration of Native arts and culture. Expect live music, art exhibitions, a fashion show, artisan vendors, hands on activities, food, and admission to the museum at no cost during the event. The festival is presented collaboratively by the Washington State History Museum, Tacoma Art Museum, and the Museum of Glass. At the Washington State History Museum, programming includes guided tours of the exhibition This Is Native Land with curators Dr. Danic Sterud Miuller (Puyallup) and Todd Clark (Wailaki-Round Valley Indian Tribes), along with performances by Connie McCloud (Puyallup), the Alaska Kuteeyaa Dancers representing Tlingit, Haida, Tsimshian, Aleut, Muckleshoot, and Quileute communities, Rona Yellow Robe (Chippewa Cree Tribe), 1876 (Northern Cheyenne and Blackfeet), and LOZEN (Puyallup).
