Danish-American pianist and vocalist Ari Alexander blends a Scandinavian outlook with American jazz roots, drawing inspiration from a musical family that includes jazz vocalist Teddi King, and earning praise from the Aarhus Jazz Festival for imaginative phrasing and playful scat work. Together they lead an ensemble defined by intimacy, energy, and a vibrant rhythmic drive. Their album Kaleidoscope features spirited original compositions by the co-leaders along with fresh takes on classics from the Great American Songbook.
